ALBERTA SLIM - An RCA Recording star, and in true life, a real cowboy, not only composes his own songs, both lyrics and music, but tames and trains his horses and animals that he presents at his performances such as elephants, chimps, bears, dogs and his famous horses.

Slim was raised on the Canadian prairies, and learned to ride, rope, and milk the wildest cow before he was 10 years old. He used to listen to Wilf Carter singing cowboy songs on the radio, and would learn the songs and sing as he rode across the prairie. He was invited to sing his cowboy songs at the cowboy jamborees, and soon learned to yodel. Slim always had a hankering to sing on the radio, to make his own records, so he left the ranch, and headed for the Big City where he took three lessons on the guitar, then hunted up a radio station - but no luck - they took his phone number, and Slim has been waiting to hear from them ever since.

It was in Regina, where Slim met Bill Schultz who produced a radio program each day, and it was on this program that Slim sang his first cowboy song on the radio, which was a Wilf Carter song called, "There's A Love Knot In My Lariat". Later Slim met Mr. Cy Cairns, program director of CFQC, in Saskatoon, who gave Slim the greatest opportunity of his career - a paid radio program on CFQC. Since then, Slim has been heard coast to coast, through his records and personal appearances. Slim's own songs can be purchased on records at your favorite record bar, and his three song folios are on sale wherever music is sold.

Let's give Canadian artists and talent a BIG boost, and keep Canadian talent in Canada by requesting Slim's songs to be played on your local radio station. Support Slim, and other Canadian artists when they visit your vicinity. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy the presentation of Slim's animals, his songs, and the music supplied by his Bar X Ranch Boys. Slim and the boys are heard on the recordings listed on the back page of this program.
